I was in around 3 today and there was a sign hanging in three different places in the store saying to "look for this tag" because these shoes are "30-50% off." I found a pair of vans on sale for $39.99, and the regular price is $49.99. I decided to purchase them after finally being helped (there were quite a few people in the store but only one of the two workers was actually helping people). I asked the girl who helped me if anything could be done on the price since the sign said 30-50% off and the shoes were only 20% off, and they did have the little circle sale tag which was pictured on the giant signs. She told me that's just how it is, and I was willing to accept this, but her coworker who had been standing around doing nothing most of the time I was there decided to immediately sass me and tell me that my shoes weren't part of the sale, that the sale tags looked different, and if I wanted to see what the tags looked like. I said yes, and he pointed to the giant sign and said it looked exactly like that; not the little circle sale tag that was pictured on the sign, but the entire sign itself. I told him I didn't see any shoes with that tag and he said that was because they're all gone, that sale was finished after Black Friday. As that was three and a half weeks ago now, I didn't really believe his story.
I know Journeys is a teenage store and I'm 52 years old but I do like my Vans tennis shoes and I purchase 2-3 pair a year. Walked in to the Southridge store and was completely ignored at first by all the female "customer service" people because they were too busy talking to each other. Then Alejandro came and asked if I needed some assistance. He was extremely kind very attentive and I'll definitely be coming back to Journeys if that kind of service continues.
Either this store has major false advertisement issues, or this worker has major attitude issues. I was just trying to get an extra $5 off on a technicality, but would (and did) purchase the shoes either way. His sass was completely unnecessary, as I wasn't even talking to him because he was barely doing any work to begin with, just standing around talking or leaning on the counter. I am very disappointed and will not be going into the store any time I see him there.
