Wish I could give a review of their food but, unfortunately, am unable to because we couldn't even get past the hostess. Walked in and was told there was a 40 minute wait. We asked if we could just sit in the bar because it was empty (literally 2 people were sitting in there). We were told we could if we really wanted to but "don't expect to get waited on because the bartender/server is overwhelmed. " Are you kidding me? Said bartender walked out right after we were told this and starts messing around with the hostess. Anyway, we left there and went down the street to Olive Garden where we had a fantastic meal and great service.
We will never return to the Greendale Buccas. We had a reservation for Christmas Day. We were called 20 minutes prior and told the kitchen was 2.5 hours behind. We were already in the vicinity so we went to see. We were degraded and humiliated by Tracy the manager who told us she didn’t authorize the phone calls and it was only a 45 minute wait. So we asked to be seated. While we were waiting a women came out of the dining room saying her party had been there for almost 3 hours and still did not have food. No one came to seat us, and we were told that “corporate says we can’t seat you.” By the bartender. Mind you, I counted and there were only 7 tables occupied in all 3 dining rooms total. Then the manager came back out and acted shocked we hadn’t been seated. At this point we had been there 40 minutes. She seated us and said “we’ll take care of you” in a nasty way. 20 min later still no waitress. We asked a server and she went up to our waitress and asked if she could stop by our table. We heard our waitress say “I was told to ignore them.” It was degrading and demoralizing. Stay out of this restaurant if you want to be treated like a human being. Merry Christmas.
I really wouldn’t even give 1 star for my review, but anyways. I ordered two salads to be picked up at 1:30 on Christmas Eve.. I ordered them two days beforehand. I showed up at 2, they weren’t even made yet. Usually when you order for a specific time that means it will be sitting there waiting. 3 other people had been waiting over an hour for to go orders for things like salad and bruschetta. I sit and wait... no one even cares we’re sitting there. I ask 20 minutes later about my food.. I get a oh let me check. The waiter comes back and says they’re not made yet. I wait 15 more minutes.. I ask them to check again because now I’m late for my Christmas gathering. Still nothing was made. I told them to forget my order and stormed out. Bucas you will not be around much longer.. the restaurant was empty.. your hostess and waiters were fooling around and not helping anyone. I’m not sure that I will ever return unless you make it right.
Lasagna was tasty but cold, service on the slow side. Ordered a small beer arrived just before we got up to leave. Billed for it prior to getting the beer. Had a coupon that was not applied to the bill even tho the server had it in her possession. It’s Christmas so two stars are given. Really need to do something about the wicked cold wind whipping thru the restaurant every time the door opens.
Nice atmosphere, good service, good food and HUGE portions!! It's the best Italian restaurant in the city and it's a chain!!! That just shows the lack of quality Italian restaurants in the Milwaukee area.
